<description>Working with Laura Wills of Messenger Design, this program guide and pamphlet were produced for the Planet in Focus 2010 festival. My role largely consisted of organizing images and copy as well as allocating advertising space and sponsor logo pages. I also had the pleasure of working with Warren's Waterless Printing, a fantastic environmentally friendly printer, that truly helped make the festival guide resonate with the values of Planet in Focus.

I also assisted in the development of a business plan to be submitted to Farm Credit Canada, for a loan to help the farm continue to grow.

<description>My original thesis concept revolved around creating a resource guide for urbanites looking to become small-scale farmers or homesteaders. With the average age of farmers in Ontario being 54, agriculture clearly needs new blood. Our current environmental, social and economic climate all require a shift to more sustainable practices, the original goal of my thesis was to draw attention to these alternative practices that new farmers could adopt to be both environmentally and economically viable.

Being an avid equestrain, I chose the Canadian Horseshoeing School to rebrand, as I felt it would allow me to explore an industry that has been plagued by bad design.

<description>This book explores the early days of the industrial revolution. Particular the role of draft animals during this period. I find this time period fascinating because of the mix of old an new intermingling, horses pulling trolleys and steam powered harvesters. I think there is a lot our society could learn from this era. As an ode to the era, the book is produced using a mixture of modern laser printing and letterpress.
